There are 98 conditions associated with pain or discomfort (chest) and shortness of breath and tightness. Just to name a few. . . According to WebMD Symptom Checker: Asthma is a lung condition that makes it hard to breathe, an asthma attack can be life threatening Some heart rhythm disorders can cause a fluttering in the chest, shortness of breath, chest pain or dizziness. When someone has a panic attack, that person feels a sudden, intense fear that can't be controlled. A pulmonary embolism, a blood clot lodged in the lung, causes shortness of breath, chest pain, and more. Pleural effusion is buildup of fluid in the pleura and can cause difficulty breathing or chest pain. Anaphylactic shock is a sudden severe allergic reaction marked by breathing trouble, a tight throat, and more. Many of these conditions can go undetected, if you have not asked the doctor for various kinds of test. Taking your breathing seriously, begins with knowledge and taking action.
