It has been estimated that 75 – 90 percent of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress related problems. * Job Stress is far and away the leading source of stress for adults but stress levels have also escalated in children, teenagers, college students and the elderly for other reasons, including: the political arena, technology, increased crime, violence and other threats to personal safety; pernicious peer pressures that lead to substance abuse and other unhealthy life style habits; technosis, social isolation and loneliness; the erosion of family and religious values and ties; the loss of other strong sources of social support that are powerful stress busters.
The nature of stress for today's busy man or woman is not an occasional confrontation with a saber-toothed tiger or a hostile warrior but rather a host of emotional threats like getting stuck in traffic and fights with customers, co-workers, or family members, that often occur several times a day. Unfortunately, our bodies still react with these same, archaic fight or flight responses that are now not only not useful but potentially damaging and deadly. Repeatedly invoked, it is not hard to see how they can contribute to hypertension, strokes, heart attacks, diabetes, ulcers, neck or low back pain and other “Diseases of Civilization”.

QUIT MONKEYING AROUND!
Many times our distractions steal valuable moments! Here are (3) monkeys types, that were in most of our homes, growing up in Philly. They are funn, yet very serious when it came to mindsets. Do you remember or not, it's all good, lol? Okay please check these out:

3. One covered it's ears (Hear No Evil)
These illustrations of the monkeys, were designed to help, work on developing good character traits? It's amazing, the impact these monkeys still have on many of us, today!
Which monkey can you relate too and which is most interesting to you? Mine is see no evil, I am so mindful, to not watch scary, bloody or horror movies. I stay away from that emotional drama as much as possible because it affects my dreams and emotions too much. What about you, which monkey type speaks to you?
Well, let's stop monkeying around. Which monkey has you name on it? Out of these (3) monkey types, which is draining your daily energy flow. Because stress is rising up and our sensitivities and emotions are wearing thin. Therefore, the affects of stress is having a compound effect.
Life is rapidly changing and the political climate is exposing the intricacies of peoples deep seeded ideologies. You must consider, a plan to stop allowing so many distractions. So as I do every year, I pick a word to focus on and create a new level of peace, this word is PRIORITIZE! Try it, pick a word, write it down, look at it, speak it constantly and post it everywhere to help you with creating a new space for peacefulness and combat distractions.
